November 2009 - On 11-12th November 2009 MRF welcomed speakers and delegates from around the world to the Royal Society of Medicine, London, UK for their biennial conference – Meningitis and Septicaemia in Children and Adults, this year marking the 20th Anniversary of the Foundation. Over 250 delegates discussed topics of global interest in the fields of prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia. Expert speakers from National and International Research Institutions, agencies and pharmaceutical companies presented material on a range of topics including current and future prevention strategies for pneumococcal, meningococcal and Haemophilus influenza (Hib) disease, clinical management of meningitis and septicaemia and neonatal meningitis. A poster exhibition featured 60 posters on cutting-edge research and delegates were also able to take part in satellite sessions and debates sponsored by pharmaceutical companies.
